(ဂ) ~ of doing sth , ~ (that) … စိုးရိမ္သည္။ ေၾကာက္သည္။ I don't mention it because I was afraid of upsetting him/ afraid (that) I might upset him. ❍ I was afraid he would fall asleep. (ဃ) ~ for sth/ sb စိုးရိမ္သည္။ parents afraid for (the safety of) their children ❍ He's afraid for his job (ie he might lose it). ❏ I'm afraid [ IDM ] အားနာပါရဲ႕။ စိတ္မေကာင္းလိုက္တာ။ I'm afraid we can't come. ❍ I can't help you I'm afraid. ❍ 'Do you have any milk?
