wish /wÇʃ/ v ၁။ (က) (with that often omitted and the that- clause usu in the past tense) ဆႏၵရိွသည္။ ေစခ်င္သည္။ ျဖစ္လိုသည္။ I wish you hadn't told me all this. ❍ She wished she had (ie was sorry she had not) stayed at home. ❍ I wish I knew what was going to happen. ❍ I wish he wouldn't go out every night. ❍ I wish I were rich. ❍ He's dead and it's no use wishing him alive again. (ခ) ~ (for sth) ေတာင့္တသည္။ ဆုေတာင္းသည္။ It's no use wishing for things you can't have. ❍ What more could one wish for? (ie Everything is perfect. ) ❍ Shut your eyes and wish.
