halt /hↄ:lt, hɒlt/ n ၁။ (က) [sing] ရပ္ျခင္း။ တန္႔ျခင္း။ Work was brought/came to a halt when the machine broke down. ❍ The car skidded to a halt. (ခ) [C] ရပ္တန္႔ျခင္း၊ ရပ္နားျခင္း။ ၂။ [C] ( Brit ) ရထားဘူတာ႐ံုမရိွေသာ ေနရာမ်ား၌ ရထားရပ္ရာ ေနရာ။ v ရပ္တန္႔သည္။ ရပ္နားသည္။ ရပ္တန္႔ေစသည္။ ရပ္နားေစသည္။ A cry rang out: ‘Halt!’ ❍ The troops were halted for a rest. ❍ Production was halted by strikes.
