hiss /hÇs/ v ~ ( at sb/ sth ) (က) “႐ႉး”ဟူေသာ အသံျပဳသည္။ The steam escaped with a loud hissing noise. ❍ The goose hissed at me angrily. (ခ) ေဟာေျပာသူ၊ ေဖ်ာ္ေျဖသူကို မႏွစ္သက္ေၾကာင္း “႐ႉး႐ႉး” ဟူေသာ အသံျပဳသည္။ He was hissed off the stage (ie forced to leave it by the audience hissing). ❍ The crowd hissed and booed the performers. (ဂ) စိတ္ဆိုးသည့္အသံျဖင့္ ေျပာသည္။ ‘Stay away from me!’ she hissed. ❍ He hissed at them to be quiet. n ႐ႉး႐ႉးျမည္သံ။ the hiss of air brakes ❍ The performers were greeted with boos and hisses.
