(က) ~ (of sb/sth ); ~ (of doing sth/ to do sth ) ကြောက်သည်။ Don't be afraid. ❍ There's nothing to be afraid of. ❍ Are you afraid of snakes? ❍ He's afraid of going out/ to go out alone at night.
(ခ) ဝန်လေးသည်။ Don't be afraid (ie Don't hesitate) to ask for help if you need it.
(ဂ) ~ of doing sth , ~ (that) … စိုးရိမ်သည်။ ကြောက်သည်။ I don't mention it because I was afraid of upsetting him/ afraid (that) I might upset him. ❍ I was afraid he would fall asleep.
(ဃ) ~ for sth/ sb စိုးရိမ်သည်။ parents afraid for (the safety of) their children ❍ He's afraid for his job (ie he might lose it).
