၁။ (က) ခွင့်ပြုသည်။ grant a favour/ request ❍ I was granted permission to visit the palace.
(ခ) ~ sth (to sb) တရားဝင် ခွင့်ပြုသည်။ ဂရန် ချပေးသည်။ These lands were granted to our family in perpetuity. ❍ She was granted a divorce. ❍ They were granted a licence to mine in the area.
၂။ (fml ) ဝန်ခံသည်။ ထောက်ခံသည်။ grant the truth of what sb says ❍ She's a clever woman, I grant you that. ❍ I grant you (that) she's a clever woman, but I wouldn't want to work for her.
