၁။ (က) (esp Brit ) ပြင်သည်။ ဖာထေးသည်။ mend shoes/ a watch/ a broken toy/ a puncture ❍ mend a hole in a sock. (ခ) ပြုပြင်သည်။ ပြင်သည်။ They tried to mend their broken marriage.
၂။ ကျန်းမာလာသည်။ ရောဂါ ပျောက်ကင်းသည်။ She's beginning to mend after her illness. ❍ The broken bone is mending slowly.
❏ mender n (usu in compounds) (Brit ) ပြင်သူ။ a road-mender ❍ a watch-mender.
❏ mend (one's) fences (with sb) [IDM ] (တစ်ဖက်နှင့်) ညှိနှိုင်းစေ့စပ်သည်။ Both sides must mend fences to avert a crisis.
❏ mending n [U] ဖာထေးချုပ်လုပ်ခြင်း။ do the mending.
