၁။ (က) ~ sth (as sth) ရည်ရွယ်သည်။ The evening didn't turn out as I intended (that it should). ❍ It's not what I intended (it to be). ❍ I hear they intend to marry. ❍ We may not succeed but I intend to try. ❍ I'd intended visiting you this weekend but I wasn't able to make it. ❍ He intends (you) no harm (ie does not plan to harm you). (ခ) ရည်ရွယ်သည်။ I intended it as a joke. ❍ The quiz is intended to be light-hearted. ❍ I intend you to take over/ intend that you shall take over the business after me.
၂။ ~ sth for sth/ sb (esp passive) ရည်ရွယ်ထား သည်။ cars intended for the scrapyard ❍ I think the bomb was intended for (ie planned to harm) me.
