၁။ (က) ~ (over ) (on sth ) (ခြေ)ချော်သည်။ The climber's foot slipped, and she fell. ❍ She slipped (over) on the ice and broke her leg.
(ခ) ချော်သည်။ လျှော သည်။ The truck turned sharply, causing its load to slip. ❍ The razor/my hand slipped and I cut my chin. ❍ The straps keep slipping off (my shoulders). သိုင်းကြိုးက ပခုံးကနေ လျှောလျှောကျတယ်။
(ဂ) ~ from / out of / through sth ; ~ out/through လွတ်ကျသည်။ လျှောကျသည်။ လွတ်ထွက်သည်။ The fish/vase slipped out of my hand. ❍ He almost caught the ball, but it slipped through his fingers. ❍ The boat slipped (free from) its moorings. ❍ The dog slipped its leash/collar. ❍ (fig ) The champions could feel the trophy slipping from their grasp (ie because they were losing). ❍ (fig ) I didn't mean to say that—it just slipped out. ပြောဖို့တော့မရည်ရွယ်ပါဘူး၊ ဒါပေမဲ့ လွှတ်ခနဲ ထွက်သွား မိတယ်။

၂။ ~ (into sth) ; ~ (from sth) to sth လျော့သည်။ ကျဆင်းသည်။ (နောက်)ကျသည်။ Safety standards have slipped recently. ❍ The director never lets the film's tension slip. ❍ Share prices rose strongly in the morning, but slipped back in the afternoon. ❍ We've slipped behind schedule. ❍ My bank balance has slipped into the red. ❍ prevent the patient from slipping into unconsciousness ❍ His popularity has slipped a lot.
၃။ သတိ မမူမိ။ သတိမရ။ မစဉ်းစားမိ။ Your request completely slipped my attention. ❍ It had slipped my mind/memory that you were arriving today.
၄။ (infml often joc ) (only in the continuous tenses) ညံ့လာသည်။ That's three times in a row she's beaten me at tennis—I must be slipping.
၅။ လျှို၍ ဝင်လာသည်၊ ထွက်သွားသည်။ လစ်သွားသည်။ The thief slipped out by the back door. ❍ We slipped away to Paris for the weekend. ❍ She's just slipped out of the office for a moment. ❍ The ship slipped into the harbour at night. ❍ (fig ) This wine slips down very nicely (ie is pleasant to drink). ❍ The years slipped by. နှစ်တွေကုန်မှန်းမသိ ကုန်လွန်ခဲ့သည်။
